Python Application Developer

We are looking for ambitious self learners who love to take on a wide range of hard and intriguing challenges. Duties will include developing our next generation drag and drop site editor, integrating new partners into the DevHub platform, and creating new features for our community of publishers.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience building web applications and dynamic web sites
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner. Building prototypes fast and evolving them into scalable production systems.
  • Experience with open source technologies and frameworks (Python, Rails, or advanced PHP)
  • Deep understanding of how the technology and user interface layers interact

Also a big plus:

  • Experience with the Django Python web framework
  • A good design eye or graphic design experience
  • Proficient in CSS and XHTML (or HTML5)
  • Experience with Javascript, jQuery, or JSON
  • Experience working with XML-REST or SOAP APIs
  • Experience with object oriented programing in PHP
  • Knowledge of Unix systems, Apache, MySQL etc.

Front-end Designer

We are looking for ambitious creatives who love to take on a wide range of design tasks. Duties will include designs for user interface elements, promotional content pages, and blog/site templates to be used by the DevHub community.

What we are looking for:

  • An exceptional design eye and attention to detail
  • (X)HTML / CSS expertise
  • Ability to mock-up creative concepts in Adobe Photoshop, revise layouts based on feedback, and execute pixel-perfect implementation these designs using standards compliant coding techniques.

Also a big plus:

  • Past history designing or customizing themes for blogs (i.e. WordPress, Typepad, Tumblr, etc)
  • Experience with Smarty or the Django templating engine
  • Knowledge of the upcoming HTML5 standards
  • Icon design or user interface design experience or training
  • Experience with jQuery or other javascript frameworks
